CREATIVE DIRECTION FOR PLACES.

About Mookerjee

Mookerjee is a place-making agency founded by Claire Mookerjee, working across hospitality, lifestyle, and mixed-use environments. We combine cultural relevance with commercial rigour, helping owners and operators translate targeted investment in design and culture into long-term value for service-led property. As a small bespoke agency we’re able to do this in a streamlined and very personal way for each client and place.

In a market where guests increasingly seek meaning, connection, and authenticity, well-conceived places can do more than perform — they can create pilgrimage, experiences people remember, return to, and advocate for. When hospitality and development are shaped through the right creative collaborations, place becomes a powerful driver of brand equity and commercial resilience.

A core part of our work is cultural commissioning, particularly with practitioners shaping the fast-evolving wellness and lifestyle sectors. We curate and commission artists, makers, writers, chefs, designers, and wellness experts to create site-specific works, programmes, and moments. These are not decorative layers, but integral to how a place is experienced, remembered, and talked about. How your place aligns with the highest growth areas of ‘wellness’, longevity and transformational culture will determine it’s commercial success into the future.

Claire leads each project as creative director working closely with clients to shape the brief and assemble a carefully considered team. You work directly with Claire and senior creatives and experts throughout, with a single point of contact and a focused streamlined process. Drawing on a trusted network of senior specialists across hospitality, design and marketing, - expertise is brought in only where it adds value - resulting in bespoke teams and non-formulaic senior-led approach.

start the conversation

Open notebook with handwritten notes and pen, and large folded map on a red textured chair.
  • The best place to start is an informal intro call. This is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation where you can tell us about your project, and we’ll share more about our approach. It’s a chance to see if we’re a good fit, ask questions, and explore what working together could look like.

  • We begin with an on-site session that looks closely at what already exists — the building, its setting, its history, and its atmosphere.

Through guided discussion and mapping, we explore how these qualities might intersect with contemporary cultural and design themes, allowing a considered concept to emerge. The session is both exploratory and practical, offering:

    • A potential new conceptual direction

    • Fresh perspective on your existing assets

    • A sense of how we think and work

Credited fee (offset against future work): £550 + travel expenses

  • When you’re ready to move forward, we’ll set up a call to talk through your brief and ambitions for the project. From there, we’ll prepare a considered fee proposal, shaped around your needs and the direction we’ve discussed.
