The places we love most feel as if they couldn't be anywhere else. The best homes feel as if they couldn't belong to anyone else.
Every place has its own resonance: its landscape, its history, the people who will live or stay there.
Designer and creative director Claire Mookerjee draws that out, then designs how it will be lived: how each space is used, what it sounds like, how it feels to the touch, and how light, colour and materials shape its atmosphere.
Places to return to
Places that restore our senses and our sense of self, and reconnect us with each other, the land and a cultural lineage, are more valuable than ever.
Mookerjee Design creates them, from places of retreat to private homes.
For hospitality
For owners and operators who want a place guests journey to, return to again and again, and whose story travels.
For private homes
For individuals who want a designer to help them create a home that feels truly their own.
Borradill, Scotland
Claire bought a struggling woodland cabin site in Scotland and reimagined it from within, creating experiential interiors that speak the language of the place.
In the first year, occupancy rose from 30% to 72% and weekly rates increased by 120%.
In 2025, the Financial Times named it one of the top 50 places in the world to holiday.
Let’s bring that method to your place, together
For hospitality, estates and holiday businesses
We reposition existing properties and portfolios, and launch new ones. We shape a single vision that brings interiors, audience building and discoverability together, so every decision builds a story that spreads. With partners across photography, brand and PR, we make sure your place is seen and remembered.
For private homes
Whether you're creating a sanctuary far from the city or at the heart of it, or establishing a home in an entirely new country, we work with you to define the feelings, experiences, heritage and stories you want to take root there, and then bring them to life with you. With makers, sound and lighting specialists, and a little black book of fabricators, every project is unique to you.
Rooted in place. Shaped around you.
